17.—(1) A registration authority shall—
(a)retain all notices of proposed civil partnership for a minimum period of 5 years;
(b)forward the civil partnership documents to the Registrar General at such time as she may require.
(2) The Registrar General shall retain the civil partnership documents together with other records kept by her.
