The City of Peterborough (Electoral Changes) (Amendment) Order 2004

Coming into force in accordance with article 1(2)

The Electoral Commission1, in exercise of the powers conferred upon them by sections 172 and 263 of the Local Government Act 1992, hereby make the following Order:

Citation and commencement1

This Order may be cited as the City of Peterborough (Electoral Changes) (Amendment) Order 2004.

This Order shall come into force on the day after that on which it is made.

Amendment to the 2003 Order2

The City of Peterborough (Electoral Changes) Order 20034 shall be amended as follows:

After article 1(2) shall be inserted –

Article 6 shall come into force –
a
for the purpose of proceedings preliminary or relating to the election of a parish councillor for the parish of Eye5 to be held on the ordinary day of elections in 2006, on 15th October 2005;
b
for all other purposes, on the ordinary day of elections in 2006.

In article 4(4)(a), “(5) and (6)” shall be substituted for “(6) and (7)”.

This Order amends the City of Peterborough (Electoral Changes) Order 2003 by providing for the article relating to the electoral arrangements of the parish of Eye to come into force in 2006. It also makes minor changes to article 4.
