The Treasury, in exercise of the powers conferred upon them by section 7 of the Co-operatives and Community Benefit Societies Act 20031, hereby make the following Order:

Citation1

This Order may be cited as the Co-operatives and Community Benefit Societies Act 2003 (Commencement No. 2) Order 2004.

Appointed day2

The day appointed for the coming into force of section 1 of the Co-operatives and Community Benefit Societies Act is 13th December 2004.

This Order brings into force on 13th December 2004 the remaining provision of the Co-operatives and Community Benefit Societies Act 2003 (namely section 1) which was not already in force. Sections 7-9 were brought into force on Royal Assent, on 10th July 2003. The Co-operatives and Community Benefit Societies Act 2003 (Commencement No. 1) Order 2003 (S.I.2003/2678) brought sections 2 and 3 into force on 1st April 2004 and sections 4-6 on 20th October 2003.
