The threshold for the tax year 2003-2004 was £11,200, by virtue of <abbr class="acronym" title="Statutory Instrument">S.I.</abbr> <ref eId="c00003" href="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/id/uksi/2003/324">2003/324</ref>. The low earnings threshold is the amount by reference to which the three surplus earnings bands are determined for the purpose of calculating the additional pension (the state second pension) in a state retirement pension.</p></blockContainer><blockContainer ukl:Name="P"><p>A full regulatory impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as it has no impact on the costs of business.</p></blockContainer></blockContainer></conclusions></act></akomaNtoso>
