<Text>Now, therefore, Her Majesty, in exercise of the powers conferred upon Her by section 2(3) of the Judicature (Northern Ireland) Act 1978<FootnoteRef Ref="f00001"/> and of all other powers enabling Her in that behalf, is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:—</Text>

<Text>This Order may be cited as the Maximum Number of Judges (Northern Ireland) Order 2004 and shall come into force on the day after that on which it is made.</Text>

<Pnumber>2</Pnumber>
<P1para>
<Text>In section 2(1) of the Judicature (Northern Ireland) Act 1978 (the High Court) for the words “not more than nine puisne judges” there shall be substituted the words “not more than ten puisne judges” and accordingly the Maximum Number of Judges (Northern Ireland) Order 2001<FootnoteRef Ref="f00002"/> is hereby revoked.</Text>
