The Secretary of State for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 20(2)(b) and (c), 20(9) and (10) and 38(5) to (7) of the National Health Service Reform and Health Care Professions Act 20021 and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation, commencement, application and interpretation1

These Regulations may be cited as the Commission for Patient and Public Involvement in Health (Functions) Amendment Regulations 2003 and shall come into force on 28th March 2003.

These Regulations apply to England only.

In these Regulations—

  • “the principal Regulations” means the Commission for Patient and Public Involvement in Health (Functions) Regulations 20022.

Amendment of regulation 4 of the principal Regulations2

In regulation 4 of the principal Regulations, in paragraph (d), after “Commissioner” insert “for England”.

Amendment of regulation 5 of the principal Regulations3

In regulation 5 of the principal Regulations, in paragraph (d), for “Commissioners” substitute “Commissioner for England”.

Amendment of regulation 8 of the principal Regulations4

In regulation 8 of the principal Regulations, in paragraph (1), for “regulation 8” substitute “regulation 9”.

Amendment of regulation 9 of the principal Regulations5

In regulation 9 of the principal Regulations, in paragraph (1), for “regulation 7(1)” substitute “regulation 8(1)”.
