Whereas a draft of this Order has been approved by each House of Parliament;
Now, therefore, the Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 1 of the Extradition Act 2003 M1, hereby makes the following Order:
Marginal Citations
1. This Order may be cited as the Extradition Act 2003 (Designation of Part 1 Territories) Order 2003 and shall come into force on 1st January 2004.

Part 1 of the Extradition Act 2003 introduces new extradition procedures. These procedures include a new statutory appeal process and a reduced involvement of the Secretary of State. Article 2 designates those territories with which the United Kingdom will be operating the new extradition procedures.
