Coming into force
The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 134(1) and 135 of, and paragraph 1 of Schedule 26 to, the Local Government, Planning and Land Act 19801, and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order—
Citation and commencement1
This Order may be cited as the Thurrock Development Corporation (Area and Constitution) Order 2003, and shall come into force on the day after the day on which it is approved by resolution of each House of Parliament.
Designation of urban development area2

The area shown on the map bounded externally by a black line and edged internally with a stippled band is hereby designated as an urban development area.

In paragraph (1), “the map” means the map entitled “Map referred to in the Thurrock Development Corporation (Area and Constitution) Order 2003”, of which prints, signed by a Director in the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister, are deposited and available for inspection at the offices of the First Secretary of State and the offices of Thurrock Borough Council.
Establishment of the Thurrock Development Corporation3

For the purposes of regenerating the area designated by article 2(1) there is hereby established an urban development corporation named “Thurrock Development Corporation”.

The corporation established by paragraph (1) shall consist of eleven members in addition to the chairman and deputy chairman.
