The M6 Toll (Speed Limit) Regulations 2003

Coming into force

The Secretary of State for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 17(2) and (3) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 19841 and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, and after consultation with representative organisations in accordance with section 134(2) of that Act, hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement1

These Regulations may be cited as the M6 Toll (Speed Limit) Regulations 2003 and shall come into force on 25th September 2003.

Imposition of speed limit2

No person shall drive any motor vehicle at a speed exceeding 50 miles per hour on any specified length of carriageway on the M6 Toll motorway.

In this regulation “specified length of carriageway” means—

a

the M6 Toll motorway northbound carriageway between marker post numbers MP 44/4 + 50 and MP 45/7+90; and

b

the M6 Toll motorway southbound carriageway between marker post numbers MP 30/6+05 and MP 29/0+70.

These Regulations impose a maximum speed limit of 50 miles per hour on driving any motor vehicle on the specified lengths of carriageway on the M6 Toll, being the entry and egress to the toll lane areas at Great Wyrley and Weeford Park.
