The Secretary of State for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by sections 3(1) and 4(1) of the International Carriage of Perishable Foodstuffs Act 1976(1) hereby makes the following Regulations:
1. These Regulations may be cited as the International Carriage of Perishable Foodstuffs (Amendment) Regulations 2003 and shall come into force on 1st August 2003.
2. The International Carriage of Perishable Foodstuffs Regulations 1985 (“ the 1985 Regulations”)(2) shall be amended in accordance with regulations 3 and 4 below.
3. In regulation 25 of the 1985 Regulations—
(a)for “£5” there shall be substituted “£40”, and
(b)for “or” there shall be substituted “and the fee of £5 is to be paid for the issue of”.
4.—(1) The Schedule to the 1985 Regulations shall be amended as follows.
(2) In paragraph 1 of Part I, for “£150” there shall be substituted “ £165”.
(3) In paragraph 2 of Part I, for “£405” there shall be substituted “ £450”.
(4) In paragraph 3 of Part I, for “£50” there shall be substituted “ £60”.
(5) In paragraph 1 of Part II, for “£850” there shall be substituted “ £925”.
(6) Paragraph 3 of Part II shall be deleted.
(7) In paragraph 1 of Part III, for “£80” there shall be substituted “ £90”.
(8) In paragraph 2 of Part III, for “£240” there shall be substituted “ £350”.

These Regulations change some fees payable under the International Carriage of Perishable Foodstuffs Regulations 1985.
The fee for certification of a type vehicle (formerly £245) is cancelled.
The following fees are increased:

| Inspection of up to three units of equipment together at a place other than the testing station | £240 | (1995) | £350 |
The other fees payable under the 1985 Regulations, as amended by the International Carriage of Perishable Foodstuffs (Amendment) Regulations 1992, 1995 and 1996, are unchanged.
