The Borough of Weymouth and Portland (Electoral Changes) (Amendment) Order 2003

Coming into force in accordance with article 1(2)

The Electoral Commission1, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by sections 172 and 263 of the Local Government Act 1992, hereby make the following Order:

Citation and commencement1.

(1)

This Order may be cited as the Borough of Weymouth and Portland (Electoral Changes) (Amendment) Order 2003.

(2)

This Order shall come into force on the day after that on which it is made.

Amendment to the 2002 Order2.

(1)

The Borough of Weymouth and Portland (Electoral Changes) Order 20024 shall be amended as follows.

(2)

In article 6(4) the words “to 10th May 2004” shall be substituted for the words “to 5th May 2003”.

This Order amends the article in the Borough of Weymouth and Portland (Electoral Changes) Order 2002 that makes provision for any casual vacancies for parish councillors that might occur in the parish of Portland before 10th May 2004.
