Coming into force in accordance with article 1(2)
1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Borough of Warrington (Electoral Changes) (Amendment) Order 2003.
(2) This Order shall come into force on the day after that on which it is made.
2.—(1) The Borough of Warrington (Electoral Changes) Order 2002(4) shall be amended as follows.
(2) In article 4(2) the words “before 10th May 2004” shall be substituted for the words “before 6th May 2004”.

This Order amends the Borough of Warrington (Electoral Changes) Order 2002, so as to provide for borough councillors holding office immediately before 10th May 2004 to retire on that date and for newly-elected councillors to come into office on that date.
The Electoral Commission was established by the Political Parties, Elections and Referendums Act 2000 (c. 41). The functions of the Secretary of State, under sections 13 to 15 and 17 of the Local Government Act 1992 (c. 19), so far as they relate to electoral changes within the meaning of that Act, were transferred with modifications to the Electoral Commission by the Local Government Commission for England (Transfer of Functions) Order 2001 (S.I. 2001/3962).
