The Secretary of State for Health, in the exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 16A(1), (2) and (3) and 126(4) of, and paragraph 1 of Schedule 5A to, the National Health Service Act 19771 and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, following compliance with the consultation requirements contained in regulations made under section 16A(5) of the Act2, hereby makes the following Order:

Citation, commencement and interpretation1.

(1)

This Order may be cited as the Guildford and Waverley Primary Care Trust (Establishment) Order 2002 and shall come into force on 1st April 2002.

(2)

In this Order, unless the context otherwise requires—

  • “operational date” is to be construed in accordance with paragraph 1(2) of Schedule 5A to the Act;

  • “the trust” means the Guildford and Waverley Primary Care Trust established by article 2 of this Order.

Establishment, operational date and name of the Primary Care Trust2.

(1)

There is hereby established with effect from 1st April 2002 a Primary Care Trust to be called the Guildford and Waverley Primary Care Trust.

(2)

The operational date of the trust shall be 1st April 2002.

Area of the trust3.

The trust shall be established for the area specified in the Schedule to this Order.

Article 3

  • The borough of Guildford—

    • the electoral wards of Christchurch, Clandon and Horsley, Effingham, Friary and St Nicholas, Holy Trinity, Lovelace, Merrow and Burpham, Normandy, Onslow, Send, Stoke, Stoughton, Tillingbourne, Westborough, Worplesdon.

  • In the borough of Waverley—

    • the electoral wards of Alfold and Dunsfold, Blackheath and Wonersh, Bramley, Busbridge Hambledone and Hascombe, Chiddingfold, Cranleigh East, Cranleigh West, Elstead Peper Harrow and Thursley, Ewhurst, Farnham Bourne, Farnham Castle, Farnham Hale and Heath End, Farnham Rowledge and Wrecclesham, Farnham Upper Hale, Farnham Waverley, Farnham Weybourne and Badshot Lea, Frensham Dockenfield and Tilford, Godalming North, Godalming North East and South West, Godalming North West, Godalming South East, Haslemere North and Grayswood, Haslemere South, Hindhead, Milford, Shalford, Shamley Green, Shottermill, The Pilgrims, Witley.

This Order establishes the Guildford and Waverley Primary Care Trust (“the trust”), as provided for under section 16A of the National Health Service Act 1977. It specifies the trust’s establishment and operational dates (article 2) and the area for which it is established (article 3 and the Schedule).
