The Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty in Council
1.
This Order may be cited as the Telecommunication Services (Channel Islands) Order 2002 and shall come into force on 29th March 2002.
2.
This Order applies—
(a)
to the Bailiwick of Jersey for the purposes of article 3(a) and (c);
(b)
to the Bailiwick of Guernsey for the purposes of article 3(b) and (c);
(c)
to the United Kingdom and to the Isle of Man for the purposes of article 3(c).
3.
The following Orders are revoked—
(a)
(b)
(c)
This Order revokes earlier Orders in Council which gave the force of law to two Agreements made in 1972 between the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications and the States of Jersey and the States of Guernsey respectively. They handed over to Jersey and Guernsey the Post Office’s statutory privilege over the administration of telecommunications services in the Channel Islands. The effect of the revocation of the earlier Orders is that the Agreements are terminated.
