The Secretary of State for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 16A(1), (2) and (3) and 126(3) and (4) of the National Health Service Act 19771 and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, following compliance with the consultation requirements contained in regulations made under section 16A(5) of the Act2, hereby makes the following Order:

Citation, commencement and interpretation1.

(1)

This Order may be cited as the Southampton East Healthcare Primary Care Trust (Establishment) (Amendment) Order 2002 and shall come into force on 8th March 2002.

(2)

In this Order “the Order” means the Southampton East Healthcare Primary Care Trust (Establishment) Order 20003; and

the trust” means the trust established by the Order.

Amendment of the Primary Care Trust Establishment Order2.

(1)

In the Schedule of the Order shall be amended in accordance with the following paragraphs.

(2)

For the Schedule there shall be substituted the following Schedule—

“SCHEDULEAREA OF TRUST

Article 3

In the city of Southampton—

  • the electoral wards of Bargate, Bassett, Bitterne, Bitterne Park, Coxford, Freemantle, Harefield, Millbrook, Peartree, Portswood, Redbridge, St. Luke's, Shirley, Sholing, Woolston.”

This Order amends the establishment order of the Southampton East Healthcare Primary Care Trust (“the trust”), a Primary Care Trust established by Order under section 16A of the National Health Service Act 1977. As a result of the establishment of the Eastleigh and Test Valley South Primary Care Trust, the area in which the trust is to undertake its functions is reduced.
