The Criminal Justice and Police Act 2001 (Commencement No. 5) Order 2002
Citation and interpretation1.

This Order may be cited as the Criminal Justice and Police Act 2001 (Commencement No. 5) Order 2002.

In this Order, “the 2001 Act” means the Criminal Justice and Police Act 2001.
Commencement on 1st April 20022.
The following provisions of the 2001 Act shall come into force on 1st April 2002—
(a)
Part 4 (Police Training) in so far as not already in force;
(b)
section 137 (repeals) in so far as it relates to Schedule 7, Part 3;
(c)
Schedule 3 (the Central Police Training and Development Authority);
(d)
Schedule 4 (Consequential amendments relating to police training); and
(e)
Schedule 7, Part 3 (Police training).
Commencement on 2nd April 20023.
Section 45 of the 2001 Act (addresses of directors and secretaries of companies) in so far as not already in force shall come into force on 2nd April 2002.

This Order brings into force on 1st April 2002 the provisions of Part 4 (police training) of the Criminal Justice and Police Act 2001, and the associated schedules to the Act, which are not currently in force. It brings into being the Central Police Training and Development Authority which will provide police training and promote best practice in policing matters generally.
Article 3 brings into force on 2nd April section 45 of the Act, which makes provision for confidentiality orders in relation to the addresses of directors and secretaries of companies.
The following provisions of the Criminal Justice and Police Act 2001 have been brought into force by commencement order made before the date of this Order:
