Coming into force

The Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, being designated 1 for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 19722 in relation to the Common Agricultural Policy of the European Community, in exercise of the powers conferred on her by that section, and of all other powers enabling her in that behalf, makes the following Regulations:

Title, extent and commencement1

These Regulations may be cited as the Import and Export Restrictions (Foot-and-Mouth Disease) (No. 3) (Revocation) Regulations 2002 and shall extend to England.

These Regulations shall come into force on 6th March 2002.

Revocation of the Import and Export Restrictions (Foot-and-Mouth Disease) (No. 3) Regulations 20022

The Import and Export Restrictions (Foot-and-Mouth Disease) (No. 3) Regulations 20023 are revoked.

These Regulations make provision in relation to England to give effect to article 3 of Commission Decision 2002/153/EC (OJNo. L50, 21.2.2002, p. 98) which repealed Commission Decision 2001/740/EC as amended concerning certain protection measures with regard to foot-and-mouth disease in the United Kingdom (OJNo. L277, 20.10.2001, p. 30). The Regulations revoke the Import and Export Restrictions (Foot-and-Mouth Disease) (No. 3) Regulations 2002 (S.I.2002/119) which implemented the last amendment to Commission Decision 2001/740/EC.

A Regulatory Impact Assessment has not been prepared for these Regulations.
