The National Health Service Reform and Health Care Professions Act 2002 (Supplementary, Consequential etc. Provisions) Regulations 2002

10.—(1) The Mental Health Act 1983(1) is amended as follows.

(2) In section 134 (correspondence of patients), in subsection (3)(e)(2), before “Health Authority” there is inserted “Strategic Health Authority,”.

(3) In section 139 (protection for acts done in pursuance of this Act)(3), in subsection (4), before “Health Authority” there is inserted “Strategic Health Authority,”.

(4) In section 145 (interpretation), in subsection (1)—

(a) in paragraph (a) of the definition of “the managers”(4), after “Primary Care Trust” there is inserted “Strategic Health Authority,”; and

(b) before the definition of “supervision application”(5) there is inserted—

““Strategic Health Authority” means a Strategic Health Authority established under section 8 of the National Health Service Act 1977;”.
