Consequential amendments

13.  In the enactments specified in column 1 of Schedule 10, in the provisions specified in column 2—

(a)for “Family Health Services Authority” or, as the case may be, “FHSA” or “Family Practitioner Committee” (1), in each place where it occurs unless otherwise specified in Schedule 10, there is substituted “Health Authority or Primary Care Trust”; and

(b)for “FHSA's”, in each place it occurs unless otherwise specified in Schedule 10, there is substituted “Health Authority’s or Primary Care Trust's”.

Family Practitioner Committees were renamed as Family Health Services Authorities (FHSAs) by the National Health Service and Community Care Act 1990 (c. 19) (“the 1990 Act”), section 2. Family Health Services Authorities were abolished by the 1995 Act, section 1 and references to them are, unless the context otherwise requires, to be construed as references to Health Authorities under the Health Authorities Act 1995 (Amendment of Transitional Provisions and Modification of References) Order 1996 (S.I. 1996/971), article 3(2).
