In exercise of the powers conferred on the Secretary of State by sections 120(1) and (3), 121(1) and (9) and 138(8) of the School Standards and Framework Act 19981, the Secretary of State for Education and Skills hereby makes the following Regulations:
Citation, commencement and interpretation1
These Regulations may be cited as the Education (Nursery Education and Early Years Development) (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2002 and shall come into force on 21st October 2002.
Amendment of the Education (Nursery Education and Early Years Development) (England) Regulations

The Education (Nursery Education and Early Years Development) (England) Regulations 19992 shall be amended in accordance with regulations 3 to 5 of these Regulations.

In regulation 1(3), in the definition of `the partnership', after “development” the words “and childcare” shall be inserted.

In regulation 3, after the word “development” each time it appears the words “and childcare” shall be inserted.

In regulation 3(2)(a), the words “three year period commencing on 1st April 2000” shall be omitted and the words “one year period commencing on 1st April 2003” substituted.

In regulation 3(2)(b), the word “three” shall be omitted and the word “one” substituted.

In regulation 4, after the word “development” each time it appears the words “and childcare” shall be inserted.

In regulation 4(1), the word “2000” shall be omitted and the word “2003” substituted.

In regulation 4(3), the words “statement of proposals” shall be omitted each time they appear and the word “plan” substituted.
