The Vehicles (Crime) Act 2001 (Commencement No. 4) Order 2002

The Secretary of State for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 44 of the Vehicles (Crime) Act 20011 hereby makes the following Order:

Citation1

This Order may be cited as the Vehicles (Crime) Act 2001 (Commencement No. 4) Order 2002.

Commencement2

The following provisions of the Vehicles (Crime) Act 2001 shall come into force on 17th September 2002—

a

section 32;

b

section 33;

c

section 43 for the purposes of paragraphs 3, 4, 5 and 6 of the Schedule to that Act.

This Order commences sections 32 of the Vehicle (Crime) Act 2001 on 17th September 2002 and 33 of the same Act on the same date together with consequential provisions. Section 32 amends and clarifies provisions regarding applications for registration of motor vehicles. Section 33 confers a power to make regulations providing that the Secretary of State may refuse a new registration document where he is not satisfied that the vehicle for which it is sought is the registered vehicle.
