http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2002/216/madeThe A423 Maidenhead to Oxford Trunk Road (A34 Hinksey Hill Interchange to A4142 Heyford Hill Roundabout) (Detrunking) Order 2002Roads and highwaysKing's Printer of Acts of Parliament2011-07-04HIGHWAYS, ENGLAND 2002 No. 216 HIGHWAYS, ENGLAND The A423 Maidenhead to Oxford Trunk Road (A34 Hinksey Hill Interchange to A4142 Heyford Hill Roundabout) (Detrunking) Order 2002 Made 4th February 2002 Coming into force 30th March 2002 The Secretary of State for Transport, Local Government and the Regions makes this Order in exercise of powers conferred by sections 10 and 12 of the Highways Act 1980 and now vested in him, and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf: 1 This Order may be cited as the A423 Maidenhead to Oxford Trunk Road (A34 Hinksey Hill Interchange to A4142 Heyford Hill Roundabout) (Detrunking) Order 2002 and shall come into force on 30th March 2002. 2 In this Order— i “principal” as a classification for a highway, means that the highway is a principal road for the purposes of enactments and instruments which refer to highways classified as principal roads and is also classified for the purpose of every other enactment and instrument which refers to highways classified by the Secretary of State; and ii “the trunk road” means the A423 Maidenhead to Oxford Trunk Road (A423) 3 The length of the trunk road described in the Schedule to this Order shall cease to be a trunk road and shall be classified as a principal road from the date on which the Secretary of State notifies Oxfordshire County Council that they will become the highway authority responsible for that length of road.
