<Text>The Secretary of State for Transport, Local Government and the Regions makes this Order in exercise of powers conferred by sections 10 and 12 of the Highways Act 1980<FootnoteRef Ref="f00001"/> and now vested in him<FootnoteRef Ref="f00002"/>, and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf:</Text>

<Text>This Order may be cited as the A41 London to Birkenhead Trunk Road (Buckinghamshire) (Detrunking) Order 2002, and shall come into force on 30 March 2002.</Text>
</P1para>

<Pnumber>2</Pnumber>

<Text>In this Order—</Text>
<P4 DocumentURI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2002/215/article/2/i/made" IdURI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/id/uksi/2002/215/article/2/i" id="article-2-i">
<Pnumber>i</Pnumber>
<P4para>
<Text>“principal” as a classification for a highway, means that the highway is a principal road for the purposes of enactments and instruments which refer to highways classified as principal roads and is also classified for the purpose of every other enactment and instrument which refers to highways classified by the Secretary of State; and</Text>

<Text>“the trunk road” means the A41 London to Birkenhead Trunk Road (A41)</Text>

<Pnumber>3</Pnumber>

<Text>The length of the trunk road described in the Schedule to this Order shall cease to be a trunk road and shall be classified as a principal road from the date on which the Secretary of State notifies Buckinghamshire County Council that they will become the highway authority responsible for that length of road.</Text>
