In the exercise of the powers conferred on the Secretary of State by sections 342(4)(a), 569(1) and 579(1) of the Education Act 1996(1), the Secretary of State for Education and Skills hereby makes the following Regulations—

1996 c. 56; section 342 substituted by Schedule 30, paragraphs 57 and 82 of the School Standards and Framework Act 1998 (c. 31).
