Coming into force
The Treasury, in exercise of the powers conferred upon them by sections 481(2)(f) and 482(10) of the Income and Corporation Taxes Act 19881 hereby make the following Order:
Citation and commencement1
This Order may be cited as the Income Tax (Prescribed Deposit-takers) Order 2002 and shall come into force on 1st October 2002.
Prescribed deposit-takers2

For the purposes of section 481(2)(f) of the Income and Corporation Taxes Act 1988, a person who is authorised for the purposes of the Financial Services and Markets Act 20002 and whose business consists wholly or mainly of dealing in financial instruments as principal is a class of person prescribed in relation to all relevant deposits.
