The Commissioners of Customs and Excise, in exercise of the powers conferred upon them by section 5(6)(a) of the Finance Act 2002(1) and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Finance Act 2002, section 5(6), (Appointed Date) Order 2002.
2. The date appointed under section 5(6)(a) of the Finance Act 2002 is 25th July 2002.

Explanatory Note
(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order appoints 25th July 2002 under section 5(6)(a) of the Finance Act 2002 (“the Finance Act”).
Section 5 of the Finance Act makes provision in respect of two new duties of excise to be charged on biodiesel and bioblend under the provisions of the Hydrocarbon Oil Duties Act 1979 (c. 5). This Order determines the date from which the charges to duty under the new provisions apply.
