Amendment of the principal regulations 2 1 The Public Service Vehicles (Registration of Local Services) Regulations 1986 shall be amended as follows. 2 In Regulation 5(1)(a) for “42 days” substitute “56 days”. 3 Regulation 9(2)(c) is revoked. Transitional provisions 3 Regulation 2(2) shall not apply in relation to any registration, or any application to vary or cancel a registration, in respect of which an application is made before the date of the coming into force of these Regulations. 1985 c. 67. 1981 c. 14; section 61(2) was amended by section 139(3) of the Transport Act 1985. Section 135(1) of the 1985 Act provides that section 61 of the Public Passenger Vehicles Act 1981 is to have effect as if Parts I and II of the Transport Act 1985 were contained in that Act. Competence to make regulations in respect of Scotland has been devolved by virtue of section 53 of the Scotland Act 1998 (c. 46). S.I. 1986/1671; the relevant amending instrument is S.I. 1988/1879.
