<Text>These Regulations may be cited as the Jobseeker’s Allowance (Joint Claims) Amendment Regulations 2002 and shall come into force on 28th October 2002.</Text>

<Title>Amendment of the Jobseeker’s Allowance Regulations 1996</Title>

<Text>In the Jobseeker’s Allowance Regulations 1996<FootnoteRef Ref="f00003"/>—</Text>

<Text>in regulation 3A(1) (prescribed description of a joint-claim couple for the purposes of section 1(4)) for “19th March 1976” there shall be substituted “28th October 1957”;</Text>

<Text>in regulation 3E(2) (entitlement of a member of a joint-claim couple to a jobseeker’s allowance without a claim being made jointly by the couple)—</Text>

<Text>at the end of sub-paragraph (j), the word “or” shall be omitted;</Text>

<Text>These Regulations amend the Jobseeker’s Allowance Regulations 1996 (<Acronym Expansion="Statutory Instrument">S.I.</Acronym> <Citation URI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/id/uksi/1996/207" id="c00001" Class="UnitedKingdomStatutoryInstrument" Year="1996" Number="0207">1996/207</Citation>) by prescribing that a joint-claim couple shall include those childless couples where at least one member was born after 28th October 1957.
