(This note is not part of the Order)
This order provides for the coming into force on 25th March 2002 of the following provisions of the Care Standards Act 2000 (C. 14)—
section 54(2);
sections 62, 63, 66 and 71, in so far as they relate to the General Social Care Council and are not already in force;
section 67 (in part) in so far as it relates to functions conferred on the Secretary of State;
section 55 (interpretation) in so far as relevant to the above provisions;
section 113(1), (3) and (4) in so far as it relates to the default powers of the Secretary of State over the General Social Care Council.
The Order also provides for the coming into force on 1st April 2002 of Section 70(1).
