<Text>Whereas the Secretary of State, in pursuance of section 60A(1)(a) of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984<FootnoteRef Ref="f00001"/>, issued a code of practice for the visual recording of interviews held by police officers at police stations;</Text>

<Text>And whereas the Secretary of State, in pursuance of section 67(4) of that Act, by order<FootnoteRef Ref="f00002"/> brought that code into operation on 7th May 2002;</Text>
