The Channel Tunnel (International Arrangements) (Amendment No. 2) Order 2001
Citation and commencement
1.
This Order may be cited as the Channel Tunnel (International Arrangements) (Amendment No. 2) Order 2001 and shall come into force on 19th February 2001.

The code of practice for examining officers under the Terrorism Act 20003 is amended—(a)
in paragraph 4 by inserting after the words—““port” and “border area” have the same meaning as in the Schedule”
the words—
“but, by virtue of the Channel Tunnel (International Arrangements) (Amendment No. 2) Order 2001, “port” also includes a railway station or other place where—
(a)
persons embark or disembark; or
(b)
goods are loaded or unloaded,
on or, as the case may be, from a through train or shuttle train within the meaning of article 2(1) of the Channel Tunnel (International Arrangements) Order 1993”, and
(b)
in paragraph 7 by inserting after the words “(see paragraph 2(3) of the Schedule)” the words “or on a through train or shuttle train which has arrived in Great Britain through the Channel Tunnel system.”.
Code of practice for authorised officers under the Terrorism Act 2000

The code of practice for authorised officers under the Terrorism Act 2000 is amended—
(a)
in paragraph 3, by inserting after the words—““Port” has the same meaning as in Schedule 7 of the Act”
the words—
“but, by virtue of the Channel Tunnel (International Arrangements) (Amendment No. 2) Order 2001, also includes a railway station or other place where—
(a)
persons embark or disembark; or
(b)
goods are loaded or unloaded,
on or, as the case may be, from a through train or shuttle train within the meaning of article 2(1) of the Channel Tunnel (International Arrangements) Order 1993”, and
(b)
in paragraph 10, by inserting after the words “includes an airport and a hoverport” the words—“and, by virtue of the Channel Tunnel (International Arrangements) (Amendment No. 2) Order 2001, includes a railway station or other place where—
(a)
persons embark or disembark; or
(b)
goods are loaded or unloaded,
on or, as the case may be, from a through train or shuttle train within the meaning of article 2(1) of the Channel Tunnel (International Arrangements) Order 1993.”.

This Order, which is made under section 11 of the Channel Tunnel Act 1987, has the effect of amending the codes of practice for examining officers and authorised officers under the Terrorism Act 2000, so that the codes apply to the exercise of their functions in relation to the Channel Tunnel system.
