The Secretary of State for Transport, Local Government and the Regions, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 33 and 146 of the Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act 19961 and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:

Citation, commencement and extent1.

This Order may be cited as the Disabled Facilities Grants and Home Repair Assistance (Maximum Amounts) (Amendment No. 2) (England) Order 2001 and shall come into force on 21st January 2002.

This Order extends to England only.

Amendment of Order2.

In article 2(a) of the Disabled Facilities Grants and Home Repair Assistance (Maximum Amounts) Order 19962 for “£20,000” substitute “ £25,000”.

This Order amends article 2 of the Disabled Facilities Grants and Home Repair Assistance (Maximum Amounts) Order 1996 which prescribes the maximum amount of mandatory disabled facilities grant that a local housing authority can be required to pay under Chapter I of Part I of the Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act 1996. The maximum amount is increased from £20,000 to £25,000 for dwellings or buildings in England.
