<Text>under paragraph 2 of Schedule 8 to the Terrorism Act 2000<FootnoteRef Ref="f00001"/> (“the <Abbreviation Expansion="Terrorism Act 2000 c. 11">2000 Act</Abbreviation>”) the Secretary of State has made an Order requiring the video recording with sound of interviews by a constable of any person detained under Schedule 7 to or section 41 of the 2000 Act which take place in Northern Ireland in a police station (within the meaning of paragraph 1(2) of Schedule 8 to the 2000 Act)<FootnoteRef Ref="f00002"/>;</Text>

<Text>by paragraph 3(4)(a) of Schedule 8 to the 2000 Act, the Secretary of State is required to issue a code of practice in connection with the video recording of interviews as mentioned above;</Text>

<Text>pursuant to paragraph 4(2) of Schedule 8 to the 2000 Act, the Secretary of State has published a draft of the code of practice in connection with the above matter and has considered representations made to him about it and modified it as he thinks appropriate;</Text>

<Text>pursuant to paragraph 4(3) of Schedule 8 to the 2000 Act the Secretary of State has laid a draft of the code of practice before Parliament;</Text>

<Text>The code of practice in connection with the video recording with sound of any interview by a constable of a person detained under Schedule 7 to or section 41 of the 2000 Act where the interview takes place in Northern Ireland in a police station (within the meaning of paragraph 1(2) of Schedule 8 to the 2000 Act), which was laid before Parliament in draft on 15th January 2001, shall come into operation on 19th February 2001.</Text>
