Citation, commencement and extent1

These Regulations may be cited as the Registered Designs Regulations 2001 and shall come into force on the day after the day on which they are made.

Subject to paragraph (3), these Regulations extend to England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

The amendments made by these Regulations to the Chartered Associations (Protection of Names and Uniforms) Act 1926 do not extend to Northern Ireland.
