This Order designates the district of the City of Carlisle, excluding the M6 and A74 (M) motorways and the A74 trunk road, together with their on and off slip roads, as both a permitted parking area and a special parking area in accordance with Schedule 3 to the Road Traffic Act 1991. The Order also applies, with modifications, various provisions of Part II of that Act to the designated area and modifies the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 in relation to the designated area. The Order also revokes an earlier incorrect designation order made in respect of the City of Carlisle.
