The Secretary of State for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 126(3) of the National Health Service Act 19771 and section 5(1) of, and paragraph 29(1) of Schedule 2 to, the National Health Service and Community Care Act 19902 and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, on the application of the Stockport Acute Services National Health Service Trust and the Stockport Healthcare National Health Service Trust3, and after completion of the consultation prescribed under paragraph 29(3) of Schedule 2 to the latter Act4, hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement1.

This Order may be cited as the Stockport Acute Services and the Stockport Healthcare National Health Service Trusts (Dissolution) Order 2000 and shall come into force on 1st April 2000.

Dissolution of NHS trusts2.

The Stockport Acute Services National Health Service Trust established by the Stockport Acute Services National Health Service Trust (Establishment) Order5 and the Stockport Healthcare National Health Service Trust established by the Stockport Healthcare National Health Service Trust (Establishment) Order6 are hereby dissolved, and accordingly those Orders are hereby revoked.

This Order provides for the dissolution on 1st April 2000 of the Stockport Acute Services and the Stockport Healthcare National Health Service Trusts.

This Order should be read in conjunction with the Stockport National Health Service Trust (Establishment) Order 20007.
