The Local Authorities (Members' Allowances) (Amendment) (England) (No. 2) Regulations 2000
Citation, commencement and application1.
(1)
These Regulations may be cited as the Local Authorities (Members' Allowances) (Amendment) (England) (No. 2) Regulations 2000 and shall come into force on 1st April 2000.

These Regulations apply to local authorities in England only.
Increase of allowances2.
(1)
(a)
in paragraph (1) (attendance allowance), by the substitution, for “ £29.48”, of “£30.39”; and
(b)
in paragraph (2) (financial loss allowance)–
(i)
in sub-paragraph (a), by the substitution for “£26.24” of “ £27.65”; and
(ii)
in sub-paragraphs (b) and (c), by the substitution for “£52.49 ” of “£55.31”.
(2)
The amendments made by paragraph (1) shall have effect in respect of approved duties performed on or after 1st April 2000.
Revocation3.
The Local Authorities (Members' Allowances) (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 1999 are revoked insofar as they relate to local authorities in England.

These Regulations further amend the Local Authorities (Members' Allowances) Regulations 1991. They apply only in relation to local authorities in England.
Regulation 2(1) increases by 3 per cent, from £29.48, to £30.39, the maximum which may be paid to parish and community councillors by way of attendance allowance under section 173(1) of the Local Government Act 1972. It also increases, by 5.1 per cent, the maxima which may be paid to parish and community councillors and to non-elected members of local authorities by way of allowances under section 173(4) (financial loss allowances) of that Act.
Regulation 2(2) provides for the increased allowances to have effect in respect of approved duties performed on or after 1st April 2000.
Regulation 3 revokes the Local Authorities (Members' Allowances) (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 1999 insofar as they relate to local authorities in England.
