<Text>This Order may be cited as the Grants to the Churches Conservation Trust Order 2000<FootnoteRef Ref="f00003"/> and shall come into force on 1st April 2000.</Text>

<Title>Period for grants to the Churches Conservation Trust</Title>

<Pnumber>2</Pnumber>
<P1para>
<Text>The period beginning on 1st April 2000 and expiring on 31st March 2003 is hereby specified for the purposes of section 1(1) of the Redundant Churches and other Religious Buildings Act 1969 (“<Abbreviation Expansion="Redundant Churches and other Religious Buildings Act 1969 c. 22">the Act</Abbreviation>”).</Text>

<Title>Aggregate amount of grants</Title>

<Text>The aggregate amount of the grants that may be paid under section 1(1) of the Act in the period specified in article 2 of this Order shall not exceed £8,829,000.</Text>

<Text>This Order specifies the period 1st April 2000 to 31st March 2003 for the purposes of section 1 of the Redundant Churches and other Religious Buildings Act 1969, thus enabling the Secretary of State, with the approval of the Treasury to make grants to the Churches Conservation Trust during that period of such amounts, payable at such times and subject to such conditions, if any, as he may from time to time determine. The Order specifies the sum of £8,829,000 as the maximum aggregate amount of the grants that may be paid over that period.</Text>
