This Order, which has effect in England, amends the Specified Risk Material Order 1997 and revokes the Specified Risk Material (Amendment) (England) (No. 2) Order 2000. It gives effect in England to article 1 of the Commission Decision 2001/2/EC (OJ No. LI, 4.1.2001, p.21) adopted on 27th December 2000 which amends Commission Decision 2000/418/EC (OJ No. L158, 30.6.2000, p. 76) regulating the use of material presenting risk as regards transmissible spongiform encephalopathies. The Order brings the definition of specified risk material into line with that contained in this Commission Decision.
