Whereas an application for the purpose of both varying and amending the Newham Education Action Zone has been made to the Secretary of State with the consent of the governing bodies of every school which it is proposed should be a participating school;

Now, therefore, the Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 10(1), 10(3)(b) and 11 of the School Standards and Framework Act 1998, hereby makes the following Order: Citation and commencement 1 This Order may be cited as the Newham Education Action Zone (Variation) Order 2000 and shall come into force on 15th January 2001. Variation and Amendment of the Newham Education Action Zone Order 1999 2 1 The Newham Education Action Zone Order 1998 shall be varied in accordance with paragraph (2) of this article, and amended in accordance with paragraph (3). 2 In Schedule 2 before the words “Calverton Primary School” there shall be inserted the words “Britannia Village Primary School”. 3 There shall be inserted after article 10 the following article— Removal from office by Forum 10A A member of the Forum may be removed from office by the Forum in the following circumstances— a in the case of a member who was a governor of a zone school at the time he was appointed to the Forum pursuant to either article 4(a) or article 5, if that person ceases to be a governor at that zone school, or a governor of the relevant category as the case may be; b in the case of a member appointed pursuant to either article 4(a) or 5, if any of the schools referred to in those paragraphs are discontinued; c in the case of a member appointed pursuant to article 4(c), if the body in question is dissolved or otherwise ceases to exist; and d in the case of a member appointed pursuant to article 6(1), if that person no longer appears to the Forum to represent the interests of either business, parents of compulsory school age children, in the area served by the zone schools, or the voluntary sector, as the case may be.
