Title, extent and commencement1.
These Regulations may be cited as the Potatoes Originating in Egypt (Amendment) (No. 2) (England) Regulations 2000, shall apply to England and shall come into force on 30th November 2000.

These Regulations, which extend to England and come into force on 30th November 2000, implement Commission Decision 2000/568/EC amending Decision 96/301/EC authorising member States temporarily to take emergency measures against the dissemination of Pseudomonas solanacearum (Smith) Smith as regards Egypt (OJ No. L238, 22.9.2000, p. 59).
The Regulations amend the definition of “the Decision” in the Potatoes Originating in Egypt Regulations 1998 (regulation 2(2)). Commission Decision 2000/568/EC renews the framework within which potatoes may be imported from Egypt into the territory of the European Community.
