Time off: the General Teaching Councils

2.—(1) Section 50(9) of the Employment Rights Act 1996(1) shall be modified as follows.

(2) Omit the word “or” after paragraph (g).

(3) After paragraph (h), insert—

“(i) the General Teaching Council for England, or

(j) the General Teaching Council for Wales.”.

Section 50(9) was amended by Schedule 31 to the School Standards and Framework Act 1998 (c. 31), and is prospectively amended by Schedule 3 to the Standards in Scotland’s Schools etc. (Scotland) Act 2000 (asp 6).
