Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Legal Aid in Criminal and Care Proceedings (Costs) (Amendment) Regulations 2000 and shall come into force on 1st August 2000.
Interpretation

Amendments to the Legal Aid in Criminal and Care Proceedings (Costs) Regulations 1989

““the Legal Services Commission” means the Legal Services Commission established under section 1 of the Access to Justice Act 19993;”

The following words shall be inserted at the beginning of regulation 4(1): “Subject to paragraph (3),”.

These Regulations shall not apply to costs in proceedings in relation to which the Legal Services Commission has granted a contract which determines costs, except to the extent that the terms of the contract provide otherwise.”.

We consent
These Regulations amend the Legal Aid in Criminal and Care Proceedings (Costs) Regulations 1989 so as to provide that they do not apply to costs in proceedings in relation to which the Legal Services Commission has granted a contract which determines costs, unless they are applied by the terms of the contract itself.
