<Text>These Regulations may be cited as the Infant Formula and Follow-on Formula (Amendment) (England) Regulations 2000 and shall come into force on 1st July 2002.</Text>

<Title>Amendment of previous Regulations</Title>

<Text>These Regulations amend the Infant Formula and Follow-on Formula Regulations 1995 in relation to England, in implementation of Commission Directive <Citation URI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/european/directive/1999/0050" id="c00003" Class="EuropeanUnionDirective" Year="1999" Number="50">1999/50/EC</Citation> amending Directive <Citation URI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/european/directive/1991/0321" id="c00004" Class="EuropeanEconomicCommunityDirective" Year="1991" Number="321">91/321/EEC</Citation> on infant formulae and follow-on formulae.</Text>

<Text>The Regulations extend the prohibitions in the 1995 Regulations on sale, or export to third countries, to food of that nature containing individual pesticide residues above a level of 0.01 mg/kg, measured when ready for use or when reconstituted according to the manufacturer’s instructions (regulation 2(b)), and make consequential amendments (regulation 2(a)).</Text>
