The National Minimum Wage (Increase in Development Rate for Young Workers) Regulations 2000

Coming into force
Whereas a draft of the following Regulations was laid before Parliament in accordance with section 51(5) of the National Minimum Wage Act 19981 and approved by resolution of each House of Parliament:
Now, therefore, the Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 3 and 51(1) of the National Minimum Wage Act 1998 hereby makes the following Regulations:—
Citation and commencement1
These Regulations may be cited as the National Minimum Wage (Increase in Development Rate for Young Workers) Regulations 2000 and shall come into force on 1st June 2000.
Amendments2
In regulation 13(1) of the National Minimum Wage Regulations 19992, for “£3.00” there is substituted “£3.20”.
Transitional provision3
The increase in hourly rate effected by regulation 2 does not apply in relation to any pay reference period (within the meaning assigned to that expression by regulation 10 of the National Minimum Wage Regulations 1999) beginning before 1st June 2000.
