The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 6(4), 13(1) and 48(1) of the Food Safety Act 19901, and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, having regard in accordance with section 48(4A) of that Act to relevant advice given by the Food Standards Agency, hereby makes the following Order:

Title, commencement and extent1.

This Order may be cited as the Food (Animal Products from Belgium) (Emergency Control) (Revocation) (England and Wales) Order 2000, shall come into force on 12th May 2000 and shall extend to England and Wales.

Revocation2.

The Food (Animal Products from Belgium) (Emergency Control) (England and Wales) Order 20002 is hereby revoked.

This Order, which applies to England and Wales, revokes the Food (Animal Products from Belgium) (Emergency Control) (England and Wales) Order 2000 (S.I. 2000/587) (“the revoked Order”), and implements in England and Wales, in relation to food, Commission Decision 2000/301/EC repealing the protective measures with regard to contamination by dioxins of certain products of porcine and poultry origin intended for human or animal consumption (OJ No. L97, 19.4.2000, p. 16). (The protective measures concerned were contained in Commission Decision 1999/788/EC (OJ No. L310, 4.12.1999, p. 62) as amended by Commission Decision 2000/150/EC (OJ No. L50, 23.2.2000, p. 25) and were implemented in England and Wales, in relation to food, by the revoked Order).
