The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 36(2), (2A), (2B), 81(7) and 82(2A) and (5A) of the Representation of the People Act 1983(1), and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Rules:

1983 c. 2. Subsections (2A) and (2B) of section 36 were inserted by the Greater London Authority Act 1999 (c. 29), Schedule 3, paragraph 4(2). Subsection (7) of section 81 was inserted by paragraph 23(3) of that Schedule. Subsections (2A) and (5A) of section 82 were inserted by paragraph 24(4) and (6) of that Schedule.
