Decision of appropriate authority21

On receipt of the report of the tribunal the appropriate authority shall decide either to dismiss the case or–
a
to record a finding that the conduct of the senior officer concerned failed to meet the appropriate standard but to take no further action, or
b
to record such a finding and impose a sanction.

As soon as possible after the appropriate authority has taken its decision in the case that decision shall be notified in writing to the senior officer concerned.
