The Housing Renewal Grants (Common Parts) Order 1999
Citation and commencement1.
This Order may be cited as the Housing Renewal Grants (Common Parts) Order 1999 and shall come into force on 10th February 1999.
Occupying tenants2.
For the purposes of section 14(2)(d) of the Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act 1996 (common parts grants: occupation of flats by occupying tenants), a condition is specified in relation to a tenancy that it is for a term of years absolute of which not less than five years remain unexpired at the date of the application.
Application3.
This Order shall not apply in relation to applications made before this Order comes into force.

This Order extends the availability of common parts grants for works to a building under Part I of the Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act 1996 (grants for renewal of private sector housing). One of the conditions for such grants is that the required proportion of the flats in the building is occupied by tenants with tenancies of the kind listed in section 14(2) of the Act. Article 2 of this Order adds a further category of tenancy to the list.
