Coming into force
Whereas the Secretary of State for Education and Employment has received a proposal from the Further Education Funding Council for England, made in accordance with section 51 of the Further and Higher Education Act 19921 (“the Act”), for the dissolution under section 27 of the Act of the further education corporation known as High Pavement Sixth Form College, Nottingham2 (“High Pavement College”);
Now therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 27 of the Act, the Secretary of State, after consulting High Pavement College and with the consent of the further education corporation known as New College, Nottingham3 (“New College”), hereby makes the following Order:

This Order may be cited as the High Pavement Sixth Form College, Nottingham (Dissolution) Order 1999, and shall come into force on 1st April 1999.

On 1st April 1999 High Pavement College will be dissolved and all of its property, rights and liabilities shall be transferred to New College, being a body corporate established for purposes which include the provision of educational facilities or services.

Section 26(2), (3) and (4) of the Act shall apply to any person employed by High Pavement College immediately before 1st April 1999, as if the references in that section–
a
to a person to whom that section applies were to a person so employed;
b
to the operative date were to 1st April 1999;
c
to the transferor were to High Pavement College; and
d
to the corporation were to New College.
